With years of experience behind them, the Arthur’s Hill Ceilidh Band are one of the defining forces on the UK scene. Although youthful, the band are steeped in the traditional music of Scotland and Ireland, creating a sound that is both refreshing and authentic. Between them, Arthur’s Hill have gigged in the UK, USA, China, Belgium, France, Spain, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Norway, Switzerland, Italy, Denmark, and the Netherlands, to name a few. Along the way, they have played for dancing in some of the UK's most prestigious venues, such as Sage Gateshead; Aikwood Tower; and Queen Elizabeth's Hunting Lodge - as well as countless village halls and hotels in between. The band’s frontline is a powerful combination of the Great Highland
Bagpipes (which can also be hired for event piping), tenor banjo, mandolin, concert timber flute, and whistles. If this isn’t enough to get you dancing, however, then the driving bass, guitar and percussion that make up the rhythm section powerhouse should do the trick! The musicianship comes guaranteed, with each member having a minimum qualification of a first class Bachelor of Music degree. With an experienced dance caller at the helm, first time ceilidhers and seasoned dancers alike are assured a night to remember!
Arthur’s Hill Ceilidh Band can provide a full ceilidh dance set (including dance caller), live contemporary traditional music for listening, events piping, and a full PA system (which can be used for speeches/background music between sets). We can also bring lighting and a disco playlist if required. Though we usually perform as a sextet, we are eager to satisfy all circumstances and budgets.
